[Remote] Product Manager - Marastar
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The Carlstar Group is a global leader in specialty tires and wheels, and they are seeking a Product Manager for their Marastar division. This hands-on role involves leading the strategy and execution of the specialty tire and wheel portfolio, focusing on market opportunities and optimizing product offerings across various categories.
Responsibilities
- Own the full product lifecycle across key wheel and tire categories (e.g., wheelbarrow wheels, mower wheels, golf cart wheels, casters)
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive offerings to identify new product opportunities
- Define product specifications, including size, tread patterns, load ratings, materials, and performance requirements
- Partner with engineering and sourcing teams to develop cost-effective, high-performance products
- Manage SKU assortment, including rationalization and expansion based on demand, margin, and market trends
- Support development and execution of go-to-market strategies, including pricing, positioning, and channel alignment (retail, distribution, e-commerce)
- Monitor product performance, sales data, and profitability to optimize portfolio results
- Collaborate with supply chain partners to ensure product quality, availability, and cost targets are met
- Partner with sales and marketing to develop product messaging, content, and customer-facing materials
- Stay informed on industry trends, materials, and manufacturing processes to inform product strategy
- Drive continuous improvement across product development and portfolio management
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 4+ years of product management experience, preferably with physical products (consumer durable goods, hardware, outdoor, or industrial equipment)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales, market, and operational data
- Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, sourcing, and commercial teams
- Proven ability to manage a large SKU portfolio and make data-driven assortment decisions
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across all levels of the organization
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Customer-focused mindset with strong ownership and accountability
- Effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Team-oriented approach with a continuous improvement mindset
- Experience in lawn & garden, material handling, outdoor power equipment, or related categories
- Familiarity with product specifications (e.g., load capacity, materials, performance standards) and manufacturing/global sourcing
- Experience supporting retail or distribution channels (e.g., home improvement, farm & fleet, industrial supply)
