They are seeking a Nuclear Instrumentation and Control Engineer to support various projects for nuclear power plants, focusing on the development and upgrade of instrumentation signal processing and control systems.


Responsibilities

  • Support engineering team for the creation of drawings and design/technical specifications Nuclear Instrumentation Systems
  • Compile technical documents / specifications for procurement/manufacturing
  • Support resolution of technical issues including obsolescence
  • Support supplier and/or manufacturing operations with technical issue resolution
  • Support development of system and hardware design specifications for Instrumentation and Control systems for both new and existing plants
  • Support creation of hardware design documentation such as cabinet layout drawings, cable/wiring schematics, and PCB layout/schematics
  • Support Test document creation and test execution
  • Develop test procedures from System Design and Software Requirement documents
  • Support root cause investigation of defects and coordinate defect tracking efforts
  • Provide support to customers for installation and emergent technical issues
  • Opportunities to travel to customer and supplier sites (domestic and international)

Skills

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or degree with relevant industry experience. New graduate engineers encouraged to apply
  • 0+ years of experience
  • Strong technical interest, including a desire and willingness to learn
  • Apply fundamental engineering principles
  • Apply work within a team and coordinate external support, as needed, to successfully complete project scope
  • Effectively communicate (written and verbal) analyses basis, summary of results, proposed solutions, and implementation instructions to customers and team members
  • Knowledge of analog and digital circuit analysis/design
  • Awareness of field devices and control devices typical to the power industry
  • Lab equipment use (oscilloscope, multimeter, function generator, etc.)
  • Understanding of overall design and operation of Pressurized Water Reactors (PWR) and systems
  • Awareness of typical industry standard drawings including P&ID drawings, loop diagrams, cabinet drawings and panel layouts
