They are seeking a Nuclear Instrumentation and Control Engineer to support various projects for nuclear power plants, focusing on the development and upgrade of instrumentation signal processing and control systems.
Responsibilities
- Support engineering team for the creation of drawings and design/technical specifications Nuclear Instrumentation Systems
- Compile technical documents / specifications for procurement/manufacturing
- Support resolution of technical issues including obsolescence
- Support supplier and/or manufacturing operations with technical issue resolution
- Support development of system and hardware design specifications for Instrumentation and Control systems for both new and existing plants
- Support creation of hardware design documentation such as cabinet layout drawings, cable/wiring schematics, and PCB layout/schematics
- Support Test document creation and test execution
- Develop test procedures from System Design and Software Requirement documents
- Support root cause investigation of defects and coordinate defect tracking efforts
- Provide support to customers for installation and emergent technical issues
- Opportunities to travel to customer and supplier sites (domestic and international)
Skills
- BS in Electrical Engineering or degree with relevant industry experience. New graduate engineers encouraged to apply
- 0+ years of experience
- Strong technical interest, including a desire and willingness to learn
- Apply fundamental engineering principles
- Apply work within a team and coordinate external support, as needed, to successfully complete project scope
- Effectively communicate (written and verbal) analyses basis, summary of results, proposed solutions, and implementation instructions to customers and team members
- Knowledge of analog and digital circuit analysis/design
- Awareness of field devices and control devices typical to the power industry
- Lab equipment use (oscilloscope, multimeter, function generator, etc.)
- Understanding of overall design and operation of Pressurized Water Reactors (PWR) and systems
- Awareness of typical industry standard drawings including P&ID drawings, loop diagrams, cabinet drawings and panel layouts
