[Remote] Senior Officer Finance (New York, USA)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Mashreq Corporate & Investment Banking Group is seeking a Senior Finance Officer to ensure the efficiency and compliance of the Branch’s accounting system with Central Bank and Bank’s policies. The role involves monitoring transactions, managing tax payments, coordinating with auditors, and preparing financial reports.
Responsibilities
- Monitor recording of transactions in New York Branch for conformity with International Accounting Standards and Bank’s Accounting policies and Procedures Manual (APPR) read in conjunction with Operating Policies Manual (OPM) and with the financial powers delegated as per Authority Delegation Manual (ADM)
- Monitor adherence to respective local regulatory requirements including those related to Accounting, Reporting and other MIS. Keeping abreast of the changes in regulatory requirements
- Management of Tax payments and tax audit assessment
- Coordinate with external auditors and provide Audit required reports and documentations
- Provide Alco reports
- Ensure due control on the following in the Branch/Edge Act Corp:
- Integrity of branch accounts
- Preparation and transmission of required MIS and reports for HO, UAE Central Bank and local regulatory agencies on a timely and accurate basis
- Fixed Assets Control
- Reconciliation of Nostro Accounts and prompt follow up of outstanding entries
- Checking of posting journals
- Manage/Handle completion of special projects such as Customer/Product Profitability/Transfer pricing, etc
- Monitoring of expenses processing ensuring that these have been duly approved by delegated authority and are within permissible limits/approved budgets and are supported by proper documentation
- Monitor MIS/reporting functions of Treasury Back Office such as preparation of cash flow, funds position, FX position, revaluation, reporting to Central Bank
- Consolidate annual Financial Plan for the Branch
- Periodic assessment of performance of all business function vis–a-vis the financial plan and update Manager Finance with results, providing analysis of positive, negative, and wide variance
Skills
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in finance, including at least 5 years in financial analysis and planning (FP&A)
- CPA or equivalent professional qualification (ACCA, CMA, etc.) is required or highly desirable
- Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis
- Thorough understanding of International Accounting Standards (IAS/IFRS)
- Knowledge of banking products, financial instruments, and operational procedures
- Ability to understand, implement, and manage accounting or ERP systems effectively
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities
- Banking or financial services experience preferred, with knowledge of industry practices
