[Remote] Software Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Hampton North is a Series C, YC-backed startup focused on building AI-powered intelligence tools to combat cybercrime. They are seeking a Software Engineer to build and maintain public APIs, design scalable systems, and collaborate with stakeholders to realize product visions.

Responsibilities

• Building and maintaining public APIs as part of a core API product suite
• Designing scalable systems, web applications, and services used by customers worldwide
• Collaborating with stakeholders to transform product vision into a clear technical roadmap
• Supporting internal business units through shared engineering services and functionality
• Developing cross-functional relationships to understand and empower the mission end to end
• Leading projects as a technical anchor with real ownership and room to grow

Skills

• Min 5 years experience
• Experience working in a fast paced startup
• Experience designing and building scalable systems, web applications, APIs, and services using Node.js, TypeScript, Python, or Go
• Strong understanding of relational databases including Postgres and analytical databases such as BigQuery
• Comfort with React and TypeScript on the frontend
• Familiarity with GraphQL and data modeling for performance
• Experience with GCP and CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes is a plus
• Ability to bridge customer pain points to technical and product requirements
• High degree of initiative, ownership, and comfort navigating ambiguity
• Strong communicator across both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience working cross-functionally across diverse teams and levels
