[Remote] Veterans & Strategic Partnerships Business Development Manager
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. NuView Treatment Center is a growing California behavioral health organization providing mental health and dual-diagnosis treatment services. They are seeking an experienced Veterans & Strategic Partnerships Business Development Manager to develop referral relationships, expand veteran access to care, and strengthen payer partnerships throughout California.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain referral relationships with VA Medical Centers, Community-Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs), Veteran Service Organizations, social workers, case managers, discharge planners, and Community Care staff
- Increase awareness of our mental health, dual-diagnosis, PHP, IOP, and outpatient services among veteran-serving organizations
- Navigate VA Community Care and TriWest referral and authorization processes
- Serve as a liaison between veteran referral sources and our admissions team
- Create and execute strategic outreach plans targeting veterans throughout California
- Attend veteran-focused events, conferences, and networking opportunities
- Build relationships with hospitals, psychiatric facilities, behavioral health providers, therapists, physicians, and community organizations
- Generate new referral opportunities across multiple payer and provider channels
- Develop educational presentations and outreach initiatives that increase program visibility
- Maintain ongoing communication with referral partners and key stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to expand participation with commercial insurance plans, managed care organizations, employer assistance programs (EAPs), and healthcare systems
- Build relationships with provider relations representatives, health plan executives, and utilization management teams
- Support leadership in identifying and pursuing new payer contracting opportunities
- Monitor market trends and network adequacy opportunities to expand patient access
- Strengthen relationships with existing contracted payers and referral partners
- Identify underserved markets and strategic growth opportunities throughout California
- Track outreach activity, referral volume, and business development performance metrics
- Collaborate with leadership on long-term growth strategies and partnership development
- Represent the organization professionally in the community and healthcare marketplace
Skills
- 3+ years of experience in healthcare business development, behavioral health outreach, provider relations, admissions, case management, or related healthcare fields
- Strong understanding of Veterans Affairs healthcare systems, Community Care, and/or TriWest referral processes
- Demonstrated success building referral relationships and generating business growth
- Excellent communication, networking, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a large territory
- Willingness to travel throughout California as needed
- Prior experience working for the VA, TriWest, military healthcare systems, behavioral health organizations, or veteran-focused agencies
- Existing relationships with VA personnel, Community Care teams, social workers, case managers, discharge planners, or Veteran Service Organizations
- Experience with behavioral health, substance use treatment, PHP, IOP, or outpatient mental health programs
- Knowledge of healthcare payer contracting, provider relations, and insurance networks
- Veteran or military-affiliated background is highly valued but not required
