Legal Clerk
Berkheimer Tax Innovations is the largest tax collector in Pennsylvania, supporting communities through reliable tax collection services. They are currently seeking a Legal Clerk to manage inquiries related to delinquent and legal accounts, prepare legal documents, and monitor legal processes.
Responsibilities
- Manage inquiries related to delinquent and legal accounts via phone, email, and fax
- Research, update, and maintain accounts involving bankruptcy, liens, and legal actions
- Prepare and file legal documents with courts and government offices
- Monitor legal processes (e.g., sheriff sales, complaints) and ensure accurate recordkeeping
- Respond to account issues, complaints, and perform routine account maintenance
- Travel to and attend magistrate hearings on behalf of the company
Skills
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and
- 1 - 2 years of related experience and/or training; or
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license & clean driving record
- Strong attention to detail with high levels of accuracy
- Proficiency with computers and the ability to learn new systems
- Situation analysis and problem-solving skills
