[Remote] Associate Attorney, Mississippi

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Law Offices of Robert S. Gitmeid & Assoc. PLLC is a consumer protection law firm located in the Financial District of New York City, seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to join their practice in Mississippi. The role involves managing a diverse caseload, drafting legal documents, and conducting legal research related to consumer protection and civil litigation matters.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and supervising a heavy & diversified caseload of the Firm’s clients in Mississippi
• Communicating with clients regarding their respective matters
• Drafting pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, reviewing & drafting agreements, etc
• Communicating with opposing parties to resolve/settle claims
• Legal research related to simple and complex issues in contract law and other areas of consumer law
• While this role is based from home, you may be required to travel for in court appearances

Skills

• Must be currently admitted to practice law in Mississippi
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience at a law firm
• Must possess superior organizational & time-management skills to meet strict deadlines
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills
• Highest ethical standards and professional integrity
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work easily with senior management and employees at all levels throughout the organization
• Strong legal research skills -- proficiency in LexisNexis is a plus
• Experience drafting legal documents such as pleadings and legal memoranda
• Willingness to take on a heavy workload
• Experience with transactional and civil litigation matters
