Jr. Accountant
Ignite Digital is a company that partners with national security agencies to enhance decision-making and operational outcomes. They are seeking a Junior Accountant to handle accounts payable and receivable activities, maintain financial records, and support project cost tracking.
Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable invoices and ensure proper coding and supporting documentation
- Enter subcontractor invoices and assist with subcontractor accounts payable tracking
- Assist with accounts receivable activities, including customer invoicing, and collections support
- Maintain customer and vendor records within the accounting system
- Support project cost tracking and validate labor, subcontractor, travel, and other direct costs
- Assist with contract and project setup activities within the accounting system
- Prepare invoice supporting documentation and maintain organized accounting records
- Monitor outstanding accounts receivable and assist with collection efforts
- Research and resolve discrepancies related to invoices, payments, and project costs
- Support audit requests by gathering and organizing supporting documentation
- Maintain accounting files and documentation in accordance with company policies and record retention requirements
- Support process improvement initiatives within the Accounting Department
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and contract compliance
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- 1–3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, or accounts receivable experience preferred
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems preferred (JAMIS Prime experience is a plus)
