[Remote] Senior Cloud Engineer \- US
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Suzega is a consulting company that focuses on building better AI solutions. They are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to architect and operate the platform that enables responsible and reliable AI innovation at scale.
Responsibilities
- Support cloud platform architecture, implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Translate high-level architecture decisions into practical engineering tasks and delivery plans
- Drive improvements across platform patterns including networking, IAM, security, observability, automation, and deployment workflows
- Troubleshoot and escalate complex cloud operations issues, providing senior technical guidance and solutions
- Mature runbooks, monitoring strategies, alerting frameworks, support handoffs, and operational documentation
- Identify platform gaps, technical debt, architectural risks, and prioritize improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with product teams across multiple projects and business units to align cloud infrastructure with application needs
- Mentor engineers on cloud architecture, DevOps best practices, and operational excellence
- Work closely with Google Cloud, internal infrastructure teams, and external partners to optimize platform capabilities
- Lead incident response and post-incident reviews for cloud platform issues
- Establish and enforce cloud governance, compliance, and security standards
Skills
- Strong experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or cloud infrastructure
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform in enterprise environments
- Expert knowledge of GCP services including compute, networking, storage, IAM, Cloud SQL, and observability
- Strong proficiency in infrastructure as code using Terraform or similar tools
- Deep experience with CI/CD platforms (GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Helm) and deployment automation
- Deep experience with Kubernetes/ GKE, container orchestration, load balancing, and networking
- Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, Go, or similar)
- Experience supporting mission-critical production cloud workloads at scale
- Solid understanding of cloud security, compliance frameworks, and IAM best practices
- Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions
- Proven track record of mentoring engineers and driving architectural standards
- Excellent communication and documentation skills with ability to work across teams
- Experience with incident management, troubleshooting, and escalation handling
