[Remote] Embedded Software Engineer (Software Defined Radio / SDR)

NewSpace Technical is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer with expertise in Software Defined Radios and RF systems for a contract opportunity in the aerospace and defense sector. The role involves developing and integrating embedded software, networking infrastructure, and RF hardware to create high-performance communication systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate embedded software for Software Defined Radio (SDR) systems
• Implement and support Ethernet networking and Linux-based communication architectures
• Integrate IP networking stacks within embedded environments
• Work closely with RF and hardware engineering teams to support system-level integration
• Support development and optimisation of RF System-on-Chip (SoC) platforms
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex software, networking, and hardware integration issues
• Contribute to system testing, validation, and performance optimisation

Skills

• Strong embedded software development experience in C/C++ and Linux environments
• Experience developing or integrating Software Defined Radio (SDR) systems
• Knowledge of Ethernet networking and TCP/IP stack implementation
• Experience working with embedded Linux platforms
• Familiarity with RF System-on-Chip (SoC) technologies and architectures
• Strong debugging and system integration skills across hardware and software boundaries
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced engineering environment
