[Remote] Head of Marketing and Communications
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. BrightNight is a high-growth renewable power developer and Independent Power Producer (IPP) with a significant portfolio across the U.S. They are seeking a Head of Marketing & Communications to lead the brand, communications, and marketing strategy, requiring a blend of strategic vision and hands-on execution.
Responsibilities
- Define and strengthen BrightNight's brand positioning, messaging, corporate narrative, and market presence across all audiences and channels
- Plan and deliver integrated brand marketing campaigns
- Lead internal messaging and develop talking points that enable BrightNight team to act as brand ambassadors
- Drawing on market research and organizational expertise, develop and maintain a cross-channel messaging strategy that brings the brand to life in a memorable and meaningful way among identified audiences
- Oversee digital marketing, website strategy, social media, and branded materials that support business development, investor relations, recruiting, and corporate initiatives
- Audit all existing brand assets, including video and other media, identify gaps and weaknesses, create near- and long-term asset development plan
- Drive founder and executive communications, thought leadership, media relations, public relations, and strategic stakeholder engagement
- Partner internally to align conference calendar and speaking opportunities with thought leadership strategic priorities
- Direct judicious use of white papers, video from BrightNight events and executive presentations, and other content to establish position on critical topics, in support of strategic objectives
- Partner with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to communicate complex business, technical, and market topics in a clear and compelling manner
- Establish and support a unified voice across the BrightNight project pipeline with critical assets and community engagement materials on hand to reduce friction and costs for project teams
- Build a library of adaptable project outreach material, including toolkits for open houses, community outreach assets, etc
- Liaise with external agencies to ensure alignment with BrightNight brand & content strategies
- Lead a high-performing marketing and communications team, setting clear goals, providing ongoing coaching, and creating an environment where people do their best work
- Develop and manage annual MarCom budget that aligns organizational OKRs to marketing strategies and tactics
- Lead measurement and continuous improvement of marketing and communications programs
Skills
- 15+ years of leadership experience in marketing, communications, brand strategy, public relations, or related fields
- Proven success building and elevating corporate brands, particularly in complex, high-growth, or regulated industries
- Strong expertise in strategic communications, storytelling, executive messaging, and media relations, with a track record of securing impactful market visibility
- Experience developing and executing integrated brand, marketing, and communications strategies across traditional and digital channels
- Ability to operate strategically and hands-on, managing multiple priorities while partnering effectively with senior executives and cross-functional teams
- Industry experience in energy, infrastructure, technology, industrial, financial services, or other B2B sectors preferred; renewable energy and emerging technology knowledge is a plus
