[Remote] Business Development Intern
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Business Development Intern to support growth initiatives across the federal government contracting market. This internship provides hands-on exposure to business development, capture support, market research, pipeline tracking, and proposal-related activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist with market research on federal agencies, customers, competitors, contract vehicles, and upcoming opportunities
- Support pipeline tracking and maintain accurate opportunity data in internal business development tools and spreadsheets
- Help monitor government procurement portals, industry sources, and customer websites for relevant opportunities and updates
- Prepare draft summaries, reports, and briefing materials for internal business development reviews
- Support capture and proposal activities by gathering background information, organizing documents, and tracking action items
- Assist with preparing capability statements, past performance references, and other business development support materials
- Participate in internal strategy meetings and take notes on customer priorities, teaming discussions, and opportunity status
- Conduct basic research on industry partners, subcontractors, and teaming prospects
- Help maintain organized records of business development materials, templates, and reference documents
- Perform other related business development and operations support duties as assigned
Skills
- Be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program or have recently completed a degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, International Relations, Political Science, Government, or a related field
- Be a U.S. Citizen
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
- Show strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Be able to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a professional environment
- Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Be comfortable conducting research, summarizing findings, and presenting information clearly
- Demonstrate professionalism, sound judgment, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced GovCon environment
- Have an interest in federal government contracting, business development, capture, or proposal operations
- Have prior internship, academic, or extracurricular experience involving research, writing, analysis, or administrative support
- Have familiarity with federal procurement concepts, contract vehicles, or U.S. government agencies
- Have experience using spreadsheets, CRM systems, or business tracking tools
- Have strong formatting and presentation development skills
