[Remote] Legal Intern

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Prosperity Life is a growing life insurance and annuity company seeking a Legal Intern to support their Legal Department. The intern will assist attorneys with research, drafting legal documents, and compliance-related projects while gaining practical in-house legal experience within the insurance and financial services industry.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on issues related to insurance law, corporate law, and financial services regulation
• Assist attorneys with the review, drafting, and organization of contracts, non-disclosure agreements, vendor agreements, and other legal documents
• Support state insurance regulatory research and tracking of legislative and regulatory developments
• Review and summarize statutes, regulations, regulatory guidance, and case law affecting the life insurance and annuity industry
• Assist with compliance-related projects and internal policy reviews
• Attend legal department meetings and collaborate with business stakeholders across the organization
• Perform other legal and administrative tasks as assigned

Skills

• Completion of first year (1L) at an accredited law school
• Strong academic performance
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Interest in insurance, financial services, corporate law, securities, compliance, or regulatory law
• Familiarity with legal research platforms such as LexisNexis
