[Remote] Product Engineer - Seat Complete
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The Product Engineer II will manage the integration of seat components into a seat and vehicle system, utilizing engineering theory and manufacturing processes to meet customer specifications.
Responsibilities
- Lead customer technical interface
- Responsible for working with other cross functional teams to coordinate CAD, CAE, tooling, and design for manufacturing and assembly
- Addresses problems using engineered solutions (FEA, DFM, DFMEA, design analysis, calculations, design review, etc.)
- Ability to guide a team of supporting product engineers
- Ability to identify processes needing improvement, and to drive improvements
Skills
- BSME/BSEE degree or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience working with automotive OEM's, preferably in automotive seating
- Demonstrated success with developing and launching seating programs from concept to launch
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills
- Application of DFSS and Shanin techniques to root cause issues
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, with awareness of deadlines
- Ability to perform and/or manage complex design analysis tasks
- Development of seat complete DVP&R
- Lead interface with Stellantis customer engineering team, Lear plants, and Lear internal engineering teams, reporting to the Manager of Engineering-JIT
- Design and integration and release of foam, trim, plastics, structures, and other non-JIT components into the final seat complete assembly
- Ensures global best practices are being followed
- Proficient in GD&T, DFSS, DFMEA, and DFA/DFM
- Proficient in FMVSS and ECE specifications
- Local, regional, and international travel required depending on program mix and time of development cycle
- Advanced engineering, technical, or business degree preferred
- Experience working for or with Ford or other NA OEMs
