[Remote] Manager, Systems Engineering - DoD
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Nutanix is seeking a Manager, Systems Engineering for the Department of Defense (DoD) within their US Federal sales team. In this role, you will lead a team of presales systems engineers, providing coaching and support while also engaging directly with key customers and channel partners.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with key customers in the territory
- Act as a floating Systems Engineer to fill in for team members during resource conflicts or vacation coverage
- Take ownership of channel enablement to ensure ongoing support and collaboration with partners
- Support the field SE team by assisting with complex evaluations, troubleshooting, and challenging customer environments
- Recruit and hire new Systems Engineers and managers for the territory, providing mentorship and training to them once onboard
- Manage the Systems Engineers in the territory, conducting regular 1:1s with direct reports, 2x2 meetings with sales counterparts, and handling expense management, quarterly check-ins, and escalation conversations
- Serve as an escalation point for technical issues that arise during pre-sales and post-sales in the territory
- Foster relationships with channel partners and their technical teams
- Clearly communicate the value of Nutanix while understanding and respecting the unique needs and responsibilities of the Federal Sector
- Stay up-to-date on the changing environment within the Federal sector and leverage simplicity, cloud-first strategies, and cost savings to build positive relationships and drive sales success
- Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time within the region
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 10+ years of experience as a Federal Sr./Pre-Sales Systems Engineer, including 3-5+ years in a management role
- In-depth knowledge of the virtualization and storage markets
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time within the region
- Top Secret clearance preferred
