Practice Assistant

The Practice Assistant supports the practice management teams within the Financial Services Department by performing critical administrative and operational functions that advance the Department’s business objectives.


Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support, including managing calendars and travel arrangements, processing check requests and expense reports, coordinating and scheduling meetings and events, and handling other administrative responsibilities as needed
  • Assist with the creation, organization, and retention of practice-related documents, such as correspondence, meeting agendas and minutes, business plans, task lists, databases, and budget and expense materials
  • Support the development, monitoring, and analysis of Department and Practice Group reports, including, but not limited to, budgets, financial performance, timekeeper hours, and personnel-related data
  • Conduct research on a broad range of topics, encompassing both internal firm matters and external issues relevant to the practice and the firm
  • Maintain confidentiality of all firm and client information

Skills

  • Proven ability to exercise sound independent judgment, tact, and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential matters
  • Exceptional grammar, punctuation, and proofreading skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate reports and correspondence
  • Demonstrates excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-starter who is comfortable managing and balancing multiple responsibilities simultaneously
  • Displays flexibility, initiative, and a consistently positive attitude
  • Possesses strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks seamlessly while maintaining excellent attention to detail, even under pressure
  • Able to establish, develop, and maintain effective working relationships at all levels
  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
  • Bachelor's degree or any combination of skills, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential duties of the position
  • Minimum one (1) year of administrative support experience
  • Minimum one (1) year of law firm experience
