Billing Assistant
Foley & Lardner LLP is a prominent law firm that values diverse perspectives and professional development. They are currently looking for a Billing Assistant to join their Billing and Collections team, where the role involves assisting with attorney billing, managing records, and ensuring accuracy in billing documentation.
Responsibilities
- Assists Billing Coordinators and Analysts with drafting, editing and preparing pre-bills and final bills per attorney/client specifications and/or guidelines
- Reviews and verifies accuracy of billing and supporting documentation, as required
- Confirms rates and any fee arrangements are reflected for each individual matter
- Creates and prints/uploads final client billing
- Assists with the maintenance of instructions related to the billing attorneys’ clients and matters
- Prepares and processes write-downs following firm policy
- Prepares write-offs following firm policy
- Researches and responds to inquiries regarding billing issues and problems
- Provides administrative support as needed such as pulling backup and providing invoice copies
- Ensures strict confidentiality at all times
Skills
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of one (1) year of work experience that includes accounting/bookkeeping related job responsibilities required
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products
- Associate's Degree in a related field preferred
