The Underwriting Technician plays a vital support role in ensuring service excellence by applying a thorough understanding of systems and workflows, with responsibilities including processing policy changes and clearing accounts for new customers.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and apply underwriting guidelines and procedures to support service level standards
• Review and clear accounts for new customers and process policy change requests that do not require underwriting decisions
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate policy service
• Maintain a strong customer service orientation in all tasks and communications
• Adapt to and support ongoing changes in technology, systems, and workflows

Skills

• 1-2 years of insurance related experience
• Knowledge of personal computers
• Organizational and time management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
• Basic written and verbal communication skills
• Basic math and data entry skills
• Ability to work in fast paced environment
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of Associate in General Insurance Designation
