Key Account Manager - Building & Construction

The Key Account Manager (KAM) is responsible for developing tesa solutions for the Building & Construction markets in North America. In addition, the KAM develops and implements business and category specific strategies to meet objectives for assigned territory. This person will be accountable for working directly with all decision-making and influencing stakeholders in their assigned sales territory (CO, NM, AZ, MT, WY, ID, WA, OR, UT, NV and CA) while leading internal stakeholder engagement and collaboration. How you'll help the formula:

  • Responsible for driving deep, strategic relationships with customers, positioning tesa/AWP as a system partner embedded in their product and specification strategy
  • Lead system-level engagement, using AWP products and system bundles to solve customer challenges, improve durability and performance of assemblies
  • Meet or exceed all established sales objectives and goals for assigned key accounts and prospecting/converting new business
  • Responsible for coordinating company efforts related to assigned sales territory. Key metrics include but are not limited to prospecting, sales development, contracts/pricing, tesa share of account business, customer satisfaction, quality, service
  • Understand and communicate account requirements and needs throughout the tesa organization, and translate into business opportunities
  • Foster collaboration within the team and key stakeholders, including channel partners to solve customer problems and deliver innovative solutions
  • Develop/execute/maintain key account plans
  • Effectively maintain customer data in tesa global CRM system
  • Other duties as assigned

Key elements for your role:

  • Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of equivalent experience
  • 5+ years combined experience in technical and specified material sales
  • Experience in the Building and Construction industry
  • Specification selling experience and building science knowledge; preferred
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with ability to influence complex organizational structures
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex business negotiations and develop effective contracts
  • Skilled and proficient in use of computers to include but not limited to Microsoft products-Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint-as well as ability to use CRM software programs
  • Ability and willingness to adapt own work schedule to satisfy customer needs
  • Must be available for air/auto travel up to 50% of the time
  • Valid license and passport required
