Curriculum Developer - Early Childhood Education

Our client, a forward-thinking educational institution dedicated to providing innovative learning experiences for young children, is seeking an experienced Curriculum Developer with a specialization in Early Childhood Education. This position, based in Phoenix, Arizona , will play a vital role in shaping the educational journey of children from preschool through kindergarten. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing engaging and age-appropriate curriculum frameworks that align with educational standards and best practices in early learning. This role requires a deep understanding of child development, creative pedagogical approaches, and the ability to translate theory into practical, hands-on learning activities. The Curriculum Developer will collaborate closely with educators, administrators, and subject matter experts to ensure curriculum content is comprehensive, stimulating, and effective in fostering cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. Responsibilities include researching and integrating new educational trends and technologies, creating diverse learning materials such as lesson plans, activity guides, and assessment tools, and providing professional development and training to teaching staff on curriculum implementation. This role also involves evaluating curriculum effectiveness through observation, feedback, and data analysis, and making necessary revisions to enhance learning outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, writing, and presentation skills, with a passion for creating equitable and inclusive learning environments.

Responsibilities

Design and develop a comprehensive early childhood curriculum framework. Create engaging lesson plans, activities, and educational materials for various age groups. Ensure curriculum aligns with state and national early learning standards. Integrate best practices in child development and pedagogy. Research and incorporate innovative teaching methodologies and educational technologies. Develop assessment tools and strategies to measure student progress. Collaborate with teachers to provide training and support on curriculum implementation. Review and revise curriculum content based on feedback and learning outcomes. Create and maintain a library of educational resources. Promote a play-based and child-centered learning approach.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, Curriculum Development, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in curriculum design and development for early childhood settings. In-depth knowledge of child development theories and best practices in early learning. Experience with state early learning standards and assessment systems. Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills. Proven ability to create engaging and effective learning materials. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience in adult training and professional development is a plus. Familiarity with educational technology tools. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently.
