MBA Consultant, Finance

Harry & David Operations Corp. is a leading provider of gourmet food and floral gifts, seeking a highly motivated MBA candidate or recent graduate for a 10-week strategic project focusing on financial analysis and operational efficiency. The consultant will partner with finance leadership to evaluate financial performance and support strategic decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and analysis related to financial performance, budgeting, and business strategy
• Analyze financial data, trends, and KPIs to identify risks, opportunities, and operational insights
• Support forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning activities across business functions
• Build financial models to evaluate revenue growth, profitability, cost optimization, and investment opportunities
• Gather and synthesize quantitative and qualitative data to support strategic recommendations
• Develop executive-level presentations, reports, and financial summaries for leadership stakeholders
• Partner with cross-functional teams including finance, analytics, operations, and merchandising to validate findings and recommendations
• Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting processes, workflows, and operational efficiencies
• Assist with scenario planning, variance analysis, and business case development
• Support project planning, milestone tracking, and deliverable execution
• Present project findings and recommendations to leadership at the conclusion of the engagement

Skills

• Current MBA student or recent graduate
• Experience in financial analysis, business performance, and operational efficiency
• Ability to conduct research and analysis related to financial performance, budgeting, and business strategy
• Proficiency in analyzing financial data, trends, and KPIs
• Experience in forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning activities
• Ability to build financial models for revenue growth, profitability, cost optimization, and investment opportunities
• Skills in gathering and synthesizing quantitative and qualitative data
• Experience in developing executive-level presentations, reports, and financial summaries
• Ability to partner with cross-functional teams including finance, analytics, operations, and merchandising
