Become a part of our caring community The Senior Application Architect designs and develops IT applications architecture solutions to business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards. The Senior Application Architect work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Application Architect who is deeply technical, hands-on, and passionate about building scalable, secure, and high-performing applications. This role requires an architect who actively works alongside development teams (not just high-level design) and contributes to implementation, prototyping, and innovation—especially in AI-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Act as a hands-on architect with ~35–40% coding involvement Design and implement scalable, event-driven architectures Collaborate with Tech Leads to ensure designs are executed effectively Partner with Solution Architects to align with enterprise and domain strategies Develop POCs and AI-driven solutions to showcase innovation Drive performance, reliability, and security best practices Define integration patterns, standards, and documentation Contribute to data architecture and governance What We’re Looking For A hands-on “builder” architect, not just a conceptual designer Strong ownership with the ability to translate architecture into working solutions Passion for innovation, especially AI and cloud-native applications Use your skills to make an impact Required Skills Strong expertise in .NET Core (including Windows Forms experience) Hands-on experience with Event-Driven Architecture (Kafka preferred) Strong background in API design and development Solid experience with Cloud Platforms (Azure and/or GCP) Deep understanding of Low-Level Design (LLD) with ability to work closely with development teams Strong experience in SQL and database design Preferred Skills & Experience Experience with Redis / Caching mechanisms Knowledge of Performance Optimization techniques Understanding of Security & Compliance frameworks Exposure to AI Strategy, Governance, and implementation Familiarity with Appian Experience with Integration Patterns and distributed systems Knowledge of Data Modeling, Storage, and Archival strategies Experience in Data Governance practices Strong focus on Documentation & Standards Experience defining System Reliability and Guardrails Exposure to High-Level Architecture (HLD) Experience in the Pharmacy / Healthcare domain is a strong advantage Additional Information Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required. Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Pay Range The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc. $106,900 - $147,000 per year This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
