Senior Teammate Relations Specialist (Remote)

Position Description The Senior Teammate Relations Specialist will serve as a trusted partner to leaders across the business, helping shape a workplace where fairness, respect, and inclusion are standard. This role will execute our Teammate Relations strategy with care and compliance - coaching managers, guiding policy application, and leading investigations that support our values. With a proactive mindset and customer-first focus, this role will play a key role in empowering leaders and fostering a strong workplace culture. The Senior Teammate Relations Specialist acts as a teammate champion and cultural change agent. This position will consult with other members of Teammate Engagement on complex investigations and interviews. Position Accountabilities Act as a trusted advisor to managers on Teammate Relations matters of moderate complexity, including performance, conduct and interpersonal issues. Coach and guide leaders on appropriate documentation, feedback conversations and progressive discipline. Conduct fair, objective investigations and recommend appropriate next steps based on findings. Consult on and resolve medical or religious accommodation requests, escalating complex cases to TR Advisor or TR Manager as needed. Prepare recurring reports, including semi-annual Board Audit Committee reports, weekly and monthly teammate relations updates, and ad hoc summaries. Interpret and advise on Atlantic Union Bank policies, teammate handbook provisions, and employment law to ensure consistent and fair application. Represent Atlantic Union Bank with third party entities on Teammate related decisions, such as unemployment claims. Identify policies and procedural gaps and provide recommendations that support the Teammate experience. Draft and maintain documentation of Teammate relations policies, processes, and procedures. Administers and manages the SAFE Act program through the National Mortgage Licensing System to include onboarding, the renewal process, quarterly reviews, review criminal background reports and off-boarding. Manage HR Connect tickets and identify trends for potential process improvements or education opportunities. Support communication and training efforts by developing presentations and learning materials as needed. Act as a point of contact for Internal Audit. Partners with HR Operations on organization changes and restructures. Perform other duties as assigned to support the function and team. Organizational Relationship This position reports to the Manager – Teammate Relations. Position Qualifications Education & Training High school diploma/GED required 3-5 years Human Resources experience to include a minimum of 3 years in Employee Relations Bachelor’s degree in Human resources, Business Administration/Management, Psychology or related field discipline preferred SHRM certification preferred (PHR or SPHR) Knowledge & Skills Demonstrated knowledge of employee relations, compliance and general human resource practices and principles. Deep understanding of State and Federal US employment law, EEO regulations, workplace anti-discrimination and accommodations related laws, including Title VII, the ADA, the FMLA and their state law equivalents. Ability to execute independent judgment while deriving and recommending solutions. Skilled in workplace investigations, negotiation and conflict management. Strong ability to consult and influence leadership. Solid presentation, interpersonal and communication skills. Initiative, follow-up and timely decision-making skills. Proficiency in MS Office required. Ability to function in a fast-paced and changing environment. Ability to travel within the Bank’s footprint as needed. Salary offered will be based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. This position is also eligible to participate in either an applicable incentive compensation plan for the position or a discretionary profit sharing bonus program.
