<p><b> Finance Manager </b><br> Birkenhead, Wirral <br>£45,000 - £55,000 (DOE)<br> Full-time, Permanent <p><b> Total Staff Services are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Birkenhead. </b></p><p> With a turnover exceeding £35m and a strong presence across the food and drink sector, our client is looking to strengthen their finance team with the addition of a hands-on Finance Manager who can support both the financial and operational performance of the business. </p> The Role <br><p> This is a varied, hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys being close to the detail while also working closely with the wider business. </p><p> You'll play a key role in maintaining accurate financial reporting, supporting operational decision-making, and ensuring strong financial controls are in place across the business. </p><p> Responsibilities will include: </p><ul><li> Ownership of monthly management accounts and year-end processes </li><li> Maintaining the general ledger and ensuring accurate financial reporting </li><li> Cash flow management and working capital oversight </li><li> Monitoring costs, margins, and overall business performance </li><li> Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes </li><li> Strengthening internal controls and ensuring audit readiness </li><li> Working closely with production, sales, and purchasing teams to provide meaningful financial insight </li><li> Supporting and overseeing management information systems (ERP/MIS) to ensure data accuracy </li></ul> The Person <br><p> We're looking for someone who is practical, commercially aware, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. </p><p> You'll ideally have: </p><ul><li> Experience in a Finance Manager or Senior Management Accountant role </li><li> Background within manufacturing, FMCG, or a production-led environment </li><li> Strong understanding of cost control, margins, and operational finance </li><li> Experience managing or supporting a small finance team </li><li> Confidence working with ERP/MIS systems </li><li> Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across non-finance teams </li></ul><p> In terms of qualifications, candidates will typically be: </p><ul><li> CIMA / ACCA qualified or part-qualified, or </li><li> Qualified by experience with a strong track record in a similar environment </li></ul><p> JBRP1_UKTJ </p> Salary: GBP 45000 - 55000 per year
