Now, together with Motorola Solutions, we’re accelerating our shared vision of creating safer communities through smarter technology.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>As a Senior Android Engineer at Rapid Deploy, you will have the hands-on opportunity to work in</p> <p>tandem with experienced engineers to deliver high quality and robust solutions in an Agile environment.</p> <p>In addition to the requirements below, successful candidates and team members will share a passion for</p> <p>high-quality software, strong engineering principles, and methodical problem-solving skills.</p> <p>Basic Requirements</p> <p>Candidate Requirements:</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>BSc Computer Science/Information Systems OR equivalent experience<br /> Minimum 5 years Android development experience<br /> Practical experience with Jetpack Compose<br /> Practical experience of software engineering methodologies<br /> Experienced in writing testable code<br /> Understanding of Material Design Principles and interface guidelines<br /> Participated in full SDLC&#8217;s with a demonstrated knowledge of analysis and design for software solutions<br /> Experience in setting up and maintaining all aspects of the Google Play Console<br /> Practical experience with any of the following technologies are highly advantageous:<br /> Location services<br /> Authentication<br /> Map services<br /> Real-time communication<br /> Coroutines<br /> HILT</p> <p>Key Performance Areas</p> <p>Proficient in Kotlin, with a good knowledge of its ecosystems.<br /> Good understanding of the internet, networking and common protocols<br /> Good knowledge of multi-threading, data structures, OOP, Design Patterns, and Web services<br /> Able to create and has practical experience with testing, automation frameworks, and</p> <p>techniques</p> <p>Good awareness of application performance impacts and security risks<br /> Able to follow and improve coding standards<br /> Able to identify problem areas, bad practices, and impractical solutions, and raise issues with the team early<br /> Able to create and has practical experience with testing, CI/CD frameworks, and techniques<br /> Ability to mentor Juniors/Intermediate Android Developers</p> <p>Personality attributes</p> <p>Results-oriented, excellent problem-solving, strong analytical skills, and self-managed<br /> High attention to detail<br /> Technically minded and able to understand and communicate using technical jargons and terminologies with ease<br /> Must have a passion and be able to learn new technologies quickly through self-learning<br /> Must be able to learn from and collaborate with other team members within an Agile and DevOps culture/mindset<br /> Able to peer code and play as both a code reviewer/reviewee</p> <p>Travel Requirements</p> <p>None</p> <p>Relocation Provided</p> <p>None</p> <p>Position Type</p> <p>Experienced</p> <p>Referral Payment Plan</p> <p>No</p> <p>Company</p> <p>Motorola Solutions South Africa (Proprietary) Limited</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
